The Wadsworth Crew

Thank you so much for visiting our website and family cooking blog! Our Crew began in 2013 and we have enjoyed sharing our story with others. After speaking at a church we decided it was time to create a website and begin our cooking blog. We are hobby home chefs that enjoy cooking, grilling, baking and creating meals for our family. What our followers love about what we do is that we showcase creating incredible meals on a budget!

What we love most about life right now is that we intentionally decided to slow down, make sure we keep the most important priorities straight, continue creating new family goals, dreaming big, working hard and helping other families do the same.

Something we love to do as a family is spend time in the kitchen together. A typical evening for us is turning on our favorite music, cooking, talking, picking on each other and making memories! We truly love creating and trying new meals from scratch. We have had some pretty awesome cooking date nights too, which we highly recommend! Date nights don't always have to be expensive or even out of the house!

We Started Cooking It Up Old School to showcase dishes that can most definitely be created on a budget! We feed an army here so a tight budget is a norm, but that doesn't mean our meals have to be! From Grilling to Baking and Southern to Mexican Food and More - Our Menu is Pretty Diverse!

He's from Missouri. I'm from Texas and you can believe just like our backgrounds are different, so are our food preferences. However, just like with any marriage you bring those differences together! He loves St. Louis style pizza, which I'd never had until I met him. He'd never had GOOD chicken fried steak and steak fingers until he met me. I thought Texas BBQ was the only BBQ to have until he introduced me to Kansas City and St. Louis style BBQ. The only Mexican food he experienced was completely different than what I grew up on and made from scratch in West Texas - and he was shocked (and happy) that I could make his now favorite Mexican dishes anytime he wants. Cooking It Up Old School is really all about taking so much that we grew up on and creating new dishes with our own modern spin and preferences with seasoning, techniques and skills we are still acquiring as we go. We are showing that amazing meals can be created for a lot of people on a smaller budget! It may take creativity and learning new things - which is why we are moving forward with a blog now!

We have so many plans and goals that we are headed towards personally as well. Not only will our blog be for cooking - but for everyday life too! Stay tuned!

Thank you so much for stopping by and we look forward to connecting with you!
